Our commitment as an employer
As an employer, we strive to support our employees. As NMIS we can support the manufacturing sector in Scotland in a variety of ways. We’ve previously focussed on this and we have collaborated with a range of charities to produce online training and we educate the young people in our community in the opportunities within manufacturing.
Training for manufacturing professionals
NMIS has collaborated with Flexibility Works and Autism Scotland to produce 2 manufacturing-specific online training courses available to members of both AFRC and NMIS. These courses are aimed at supporting the journey to ensure manufacturing is an inclusive sector.
Activities within NMIS
NMIS has four thriving employee groups which drive inclusion within the organisation and support local businesses and communities.

NMIS Environmental Committee
As part of our commitment to net-zero, the NMIS Environment committee has been established to identify areas within our operations where we can reduce environmental impact. Its four target areas are emissions, resource use and waste, ecology, and travel.

NMIS Community Committee
Our Community Committee is comprised of a group of NMIS employees who are responsible for organizing social or extracurricular events for the workplace. Work social committee ideas include hosting networking events or scheduling outings sports clubs.

NMIS Inclusion Hub
Inclusion is what’s needed to give diversity real impact, and drive towards a world of work where all employees are empowered to thrive. And, whilst diversity and inclusion often go hand in hand, inclusion is fundamentally about individual experience and allowing everyone at work to contribute and feel a part of an organisation.

NMIS Neurodiversity Hub
Although there is broad diversity across the population, some individuals have neurological variations that make it particularly challenging for their communication, self-expression and interactions with others. At NMIS we aim to create environments that will maximally facilitate these individuals to grow and achieve their full potential.
